Revealing the nanogeometry of WS<sub>2</sub> nanoflowers by polarization-resolved Raman spectroscopy

Recent studies of Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDs) have revealed exciting optical properties like stable excitons and chiral light-matter interactions. Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) techniques provide a platform for the fabrication nanostructures with diverse geometries, ranging from horizontal flakes to flower-like structures. Raman spectroscopy is commonly used characterize TMDs their properties. Here, we use polarization-resolved probe nanogeometry orientation WS2 nanoflower petals. Exciting nanoflowers linearly polarized light, observe an enhanced response flower petals oriented along excitation polarization direction. Furthermore, helicity-resolved vertically wall-like exhibits clear differences horizontally flakes. Although photoluminescence strongly reduced, upon in resonance excitonic transition does reveal presence exciton, which results distinct temperature dependence response.
